Climbing climbing climbing

Hi hi everyone, it's me Tess....kiss kiss happy new year xxxxx
I'm reporting to you today from the miserable Blue Mountains where the drizzle and mist has set in ....it's supposed to be summer !!!!!! I decided I should do this post because I'm well known for my climbing ability with frequent trips to the neighbours yard via the back fence hehehe. This is the Hartley Valley in the Blue Mountains. It's also the area where B & D had their first outdoor rock climbing adventure. D has been going to the indoor rockclimbing gym 3 times a week since last May but on this day they had the opportunity to climb outdoors and B went along too. They have a good friend who is a climbing instructor so with his help they did 3 outdoor climbs.
Here they are waiting for their matie Carl to set up the ropes. Then they all walked down to the foot of the cliffs.

Here is D on one of the climbs. She did better than she thought she would.

This was the last climb of the afternoon. B did really really well considering he has never climbed before. This climb was graded a little harder than the first 2 and its a slab rock with smaller holds. With climbing shoes you can really stick to the wall.

D liked this climb the best because it was the most challanging yet she could still do it hehe.

That's it B, big stretch, come on you can do it.

D & B had a great afternoon climbing. They cant wait to go again. I can go climbing over my back fence whenever I like hehehe.
We hope everyone is enjoying the first few days of 2011.
Love Tess xx

Tess, that's a great photo of you!

I'll bet you're asking yourself whether you should trust those humans to continue to make all the decisions for you. After all, you have to wonder why they would jump off mountains with only a skinny rope for company.

Looks like lots of fun but we think we'll leave the soaring to great heights to you! Have a great week!

We have the sun, but also the cold. And no snow:(

That mountain climbing looks like hard work, the Momster says NO WAY would she do that. But we are happy to see that your humans had such a nice time.

Happy New Year.

Looks like they had lots of fun and challenges. We are not really into that kind of climbing. Think we will leave it to the experts. We like your picture!!

Misery says the steps in the Blue Mountains are bad enough without going up and down anywhere there with ropes.

Tess, ya got those humans trained pretty well! Nice technique! But can they get over the fence?

Those are some pretty impressive rocks. Is that the fabled Ozite Profile of Terra Incognita? The place has really started looking impressive since it split off from Antarctica!

Cheers,

Are they outta their minds?? I mean, I know Tessie, that you are an expert climber!! But B & D??? Um...well...I just know that when we had that little blender fire in the kitchen that both of them could barely get DOWN the steps at the same time, much less climb UP them. Much ado about nuthin', that fire dept. adores my smoothies...it was so nice of them to provide me with that new blender and my own purple extinguisher.

Now, please tell your Peeps to buy some of that double sided sticky tape. It helps.

Kisses and keep your paws DRY.

You know what? Moma woke up the other morning and told us that she dreamed we were all together. You and us. We were visiting you and we had a GREAT time. She didn't mention fences or climbing, though. Maybe tonight. (It sounds like fun!)
