A family visit in New Zealand

G'day Blogging maties,
The beginning of February saw D & B visit B's family in New Zealand. They were away for 4 whole days and we were packed off to Kelston Country Kennels. This first video was taken just after take off. That's the city of Sydney down there. D is trying to show you some of the famous landmarks but the sound of the plane is too loud so you might not hear her very well. You should be able to spot the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Botany Bay in the background with the 2 Sydney airport runways jutting into it and some of the Eastern Suburbs beaches. The biggest is Bondi.

In this next video they are flying over the city of Auckland on the North Island of New Zealand. That is where they landed before hiring a car and driving to the family farm 1.5 hours south east of Auckland.

Here they are on the farm. There was a big family get together and we heard there was lots of yummy food. B's mum is now in a nursing home after her stroke last year but she was able to have the day on the farm as a special treat. They were able to wheel her around part of the farm so she could see her old stomping ground. She had a good day. The Border Collie in the piccie is Skye, one of the farm dogs.

On their last day there D & B took B's mum to a water park near the nursing home where she was able to feed some of the ducks and peacocks that live there.

What are you doing B....don't wheel my Nanna into the pond........

This is Sara. She lives on the farm and belongs to B's sister.

And this is Jess. She is one of the farm dogs and mother of Skye.

We hope you enjoyed the photos. Have a good week everyone.

Gee, does look like B is trying to do Nanna in - lucky the duck showed up in time to save her. Sure looks nice and sunny in NZ - was it just last week that we were sooo hot - hard to remember now, it being sooo wet.

cheers,

Your Grama looks like a sweetie & so nice she got to visit the farm. The videos were cool. We've only traveled as far south as Tucson,AZ and as far north as Creston, British Columbia,Canada. Our parents don't let us fly either. We hope your stay at the kennel was fun.

We really enjoyed the view from the plane. I'd so love to visit Australia one day. We know people there from Canada who never came back.

We're glad your Nanna got to spend such a nice day with her family. And it looks like a beautiful farm. Maybe next time you'll be able to go too so you can play with all those dogs and ducks.

I enjoyed this so much.....
I was sure granny was going in the pond, in fact, my mum says she can see it like a cartoon strip in her head and can't stop laughing....I think she is nuts..Granny could have drowned.

Drat, those videos won't play properly for us. I bet your Nana had a lovely day at the water park ... she doesn't look a bit scared at the prospect of a dip.
Nelly loves Sara's basket with all those toys!
Looks like it was a really good trip! Mum and Dad wanted to go to New Zealand but they got a Nelly instead ...

What a cool farm! We'd trade you for the weather, too!

Imagine what would happen with 'dales and ducks...Betcha the peacocks could hold their own, though.

Our male human lackey remembers the seaplanes that used to run from Sidney harbor to New Zealand. It appears the quality of the air shuttle has improved! Nice pix!

Cheers,
