This is our first ever video. Finally we have a camera which takes videos too so the pinkies have been taking loads of videos of us. This one is the best so far. We had fun.

The Dale Beach Invasion

G'day everydog and Hammie,

We've been having a great time at our grandpinkies place in Sydney. The weather has been glorious so far and today we had the best ever day. D & B took us to a dog friendly beach down the coast where we got to run like crazy dogs, play in the waves and meet other dogs.

Tomorrow the pinkies are going sailing on Sydney Harbour but we'll be hanging at home with the grandpinkies. That's ok, they spend lots of time with us tossing the ball and playing with our wubba.

We were hoping for snow like lots of our DWB's maties are having but sadly we're stuck with horrible summer days, sun shine and warmth.

Our Christmas Story

G'day maties,

We had some really bad news today. Our bestest friend Jack Harries the fox terrier crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon, on Christmas day. He had a tumour and went down hill very quickly. We spent yesterday with him while our pinkies were in Sydney. When they came to pick us up they spent a bit of time with him to say goodbye. Today, Christmas day, he was unable to walk and his breathing wasn't good. It was time to say goodbye.

Needless to say his pinkies are distraught. He was our friend too. We'll miss him terribly.

Yesterday was such a mixed up day. Our pinkies went to Sydney to celebrate Christmas eve with the family while we were at Aunty Marylin's place. D was already in Sydney and B was meeting her there. Well as B was getting ready to leave he decided he'd quickly clean our mats and hang them over the pen fence to dry. As he hung them over the gate of our pen, the latch came open and my sisters all decided to leave the sanctuary of the dale pen. Yes folks, they escaped just as B was planning to head on down to Sydney for Chrissy eve lunch. Thank dog, Tess had the good sense to go as far as the neighbours place, then come back. She was an easy find unlike Willow & Lucy. They are true escape artists those two.

We have millions of stories about their adventures but they'll have to wait for another day. Anyhooooo, B drove around for an hour looking for them. Eventually he drove down to a place called Leura Cascades where he found them playing with some people enjoying a picnic. They'd been having a great time, swimming in the pools and playing. The fact they had to cross a major road to get there didn't seem to bother them at all!!!!!! They must have used up so many lives between the two of them.

Last weekend B put some really cute ribbons on our collars and took us up to the village. As usual we sat by our favourite pole in the centre of the median strip. I can't tell you how many people stopped to take photos of us ( including D lol).

Today the family came up to our place for Christmas lunch. We had chicken in a mustard and tarragon sauce, fruity beef stew, baked ham in as Asian glaze (excellent by the way, best ham ever!!!), baked sweet potato and regular potato and a green salad followed by B's home made pudding and D's home made flourless chocolate cake. What a feast.

Then with full bellies the fam went home and we got to open our pressies.

We're all tuckered out now and it's time for a walk before we call it a night.

We hope all our DWB's maties had a great Christmas. Take care everyone.

Our problem banner solved

The other day we noticed that our original banner had shrunk. Hence my photo, the one which made me look very handsome was chopped and we weren't able to see my lovely face. Anyway Lucy walked over the keyboard and solved the problem.

If anyone else is having banner probs like we did, (we know Marvin and Jackson are) and you haven't got access to Lucy then this is what you should do.

Select an image that you want to use. Using any editing photo software, simply add a title and description onto the photo you are going to use. Save it. Then go to your template page, then page elements and select edit on your header. Then click the option under placement that says "instead of title and description". Then remove the image you already have and add the image that has your title and description on it. This should now be the full size image.

It was much easier when Lucy walked over the key board.

Anyway, if you are having banner problems, we hope this works for you. Personally, I have no idea what I just wrote and am now feeling more confused than ever.

Chrissie cards

G'day everyone,

If we didn't have such bulky paws we'd be able to open the laptop for ourselves but since D has been busy these last few days we haven't been able to blog till now.

First of all we'd like to thank River for our Best Friend award and Keeley for our Golden Rose award, thanks you two.

We'd like to pass the Best Friend award to our best girl friend Ellie who has been very sad since her sister Harley has gone over the rainbow bridge.

It's been really hectic around here lately. The Chrissy shopping is finally over. We've got boxes of pressies everywhere. Tess keeps sticking her big black nose into all the boxes and getting told off. The Christmas card exchange has been great fun. We put them up in our lounge room so we can look at them everyday.

It's been great fun getting all the cards. Then yesterday we got some really neat bling from our friends Molly and Gertrude from England.
See aren't they great. We got one each with our names on them. Mine is a sparkley bone. They're supposed to go on the tree but we can't see the tree as it's in the guest area and we're not supposed to go out there so they're with all our cards and we can look at them everyday.

Goodbye to our dear friend Harley

We are all very sad here today as we have just learned that our dear friend Harley Bear the airedale has passed away. She had been ill for sometime and had recently suffered from fits which the vet attributes to a tumour which had spread to other organs.

Harley is the sister of my girl Ellie who lives in Melbourne. Everyone is devistated by the sad news and we have Harley's pinkies Jo & Tim in our thoughts.

Christmas tree take 2

G'day Maties,

I can now be seen next to the Christmas tree. The pinkies came through with their promise to buy more decorations and I've gotta say, it's looking mighty fine. We're all happy now. Check out how good it looks, of course I make a better model than my sissies......

The thing about our tree is it had to be the fakest tree the pinkies could buy. It's one of those fibre optic trees. They used to have a live tree but D felt bad decorating it....go figure.....she doesn't seem to have a problem decorating HER DOGS.

We've been tagged by our friends Ben Ben and Finni the dale to name 7 of our biggest annoyances. Then we're to pass this on to 7 more bloggers and notify them by leaving a comment on their blog.

So we put our heads together and came up with these 7:

1. I (Noah) hate it when the laundry man comes around the back with his big laundry bags. I give him my biggest ever woofs. I don't think he likes me either, whimp.

2. Tess hates being in the dale pen while B is working in the garden. She climbs up and over the pen just to be with him. She always falls out of the pen like a sack of spuds.

3. Willow hates being on the receiving end of Lucy's rough play and boy is she rough.

4. Lucy hates having Advocate drops applied to her back. You'd think she was being stretched over a torture wheel. What a goose she is.

5. We all hate being wet down with the hose on really hot days just before going for a walk. Mind you it wouldn't hurt to turn the pressure down a bit.

6. I hate having the poop shoot washed down with the hose. Again turn the pressure down, I'm not having an enema!!!!

7. Lucy hates it when B pretends to be the boogie man. She barks at him and then feels like a goose when she realises it's B and then she goes and bites the rest of us and we hate that.

I guess we could go on but we'd be here all day.

A sad looking Christmas Tree

G'day Maties,

What you are about to see may be disturbing. It's our Christmas tree....look at it. It's boring!!
Where are the baubles we hear you ask .....No Tess didn't eat them. It's just pathetic especially the tinsel, one piddley piece. Then D made the girls pose next to it. They tried to run away but they were cornered. I watched on from the other end of the hall embarrassed for them. Hopefully they'll see sense and go to K-Mart to buy some more.

It's the poor house for us!!!!

G'day maties,

Thanks to my sister Tess, we spent the afternoon at the vet....yep you heard right.........sigh.

This is what happened. Pinky B took some mini cherry pies out for some of the B&B guests. Then the doorbell rang and he left the pies on the kitchen bench. Tess, the pig, jumped up and knocked the pies to the ground where she proceeded to eat them.

When B came back into the kitchen he found the pies gone but he wasn't sure if they were in foil or not. He wasn't sure who ate the pies even though we were all pointing at Tess.......crikey!!!

Finally he decided to take Tess to the vet after all she was the one who ate the xmas puds so he figured she ate the cherry pies too. He was worried that the foil would do damage.

Well Tess had an x-ray and there was no foil in her tummy. So to be on the safe side he took us all for an x-ray.

All four x-rays showed bellies full of bones but no foil.

Woo hoo, that's really good news. When D came home from work she found an empty house and wondered where we all were.

The vet said Tess had more food in her belly than the rest of us.......typical.

So in conclusion, the pies were not in foil and Tess is a pig.

The mystery of the disappearing puds

G'day maties,

It's that time of the year when our pinkie Bryan makes lots and lots of Christmas puddings for family and friends. He gets lots of orders so for weeks you'll find pots full of puds bubbling away on our stove.

Here is a pic of a small size pudding ready to be wrapped in cloth and decorated:

At this stage of production the puds are kept in our bathroom where it's nice and cool. This has been a tradition for years.......until now!

Below you will find a picture of Tess and a pud. It seems that Tess has aquired a taste for these puds and so far has helped herself to not one but TWO puds. She managed to remove the plastic cover before devouring them. D & B were concerned as they're made with loads of dried fruit. We hope she doesn't get an upset tummy, silly girl.

We're also really excited about Asta's pawty for St Nicholas Day. She said there would be doggies playing instruments and I thought I'd bring along my didgeridoo to play. It makes a really neat sound but you have to be very talented to play it and it's also a tradition that only boys are allowed play but I didn't make that rule up. I think it would be ok if everydog and hammie had a go.

Christmas Card 2007

Sunday afternoon we were cornered. The pinkies said it was time for the Christmas Card photo shoot. They took us for a long walk just before hand, they said this would tire us out so we wouldn't be so energetic for the shoot. We watched as they prepared the props. Then they lead us out and placed us in our positions. They dressed us in our outfits and then the treats came out.....Yes bribery goes a long way. The shoot took a while because Willow kept moving and then Tess started to snap at the flies. Lucy and I were the best, we did as we were told. Willow kept moving forward so her turban kept falling off her head. Anyway, eventually after lots of clicking of the camera they seemed satisfied that they had at least one good shot.

A week of storms and rain

It's been a very wet week here in the mountains. After the great weather we had while we were on holidays we've come back to more rain and mist.

Last weekend B thought it would be a good idea to chop down a tree in our backyard which had been hit by lightning about 6 months ago. It was well and truely dead so I kindly held the ladder as B made his way up all the way to the top of the tree. As it was too dangerous for me to help out I took some happy snaps instead.

There was a storm that day and D made sure that B wasn't up the tree during it. Thank dogness he listened to her. Some pinkies can be a little stubborn!!! He said don't worry lightning never strikes in the same place twice...............sigh.

We've had a series of storms nearly every day this week. Then on Wednesday night we had a doozy and at about 7pm that night we had a blackout. Lucky for us it only lasted about 45 mins so D took some photos of us sitting around in the dark.

Home at last

After a week down at Beechworth we're finally back home. We had the best time away. There were so many highlights.

Firstly we all got to meet our friend Ellie. After years of emailing and posting we finally got to lay eyes on one another. She is such a great gal. Hopefully we'll all get to meet up again soon.

Here is a pic of Ellie in the background with Lucy.

Secondly we got to go swimming at the damn. We hardly ever get to swim so it was a real treat.

Lucy got the hang of it really quickly. She can swim in really deep water and even bring back small logs in her mouth. Tess is a good swimmer too but Willow was a bit nervous so she didn't go in very deep at all.

It was a really hot week and as we live in the Mountains we're not really used to the heat so it was really good to be able to wade in the cool water.

Our pinkies don't really like to have us off lead as we have this habit of running off. On our second trip out to the damn Lucy and I decided it would be good to go exploring in the bush. So when D & B were watching Tess and Willow, we slipped away. We could hear them calling and calling but the temptation of a new adventure was just too exciting so we kept going. Soon we split up and explored the area separatley. I found a bog to check out. It was the best, muddy and stinky. I could hear the car coming down the dirt track and after a while it turned and went back. I suspect it was B who had found Lucy wandering back up the track. I stayed hidden for a while longer. Then when I was good and ready I headed back up the dirt track. That's when I came across B in the car. He took one look at me covered in mud and threw me in the back.

Needless to say that was our last trip to the damn. We just can't be trusted off leash.

Beechworth is a great place of us doggies to holiday. We found a great cottage which is totally pet friendly with the biggest backyard ever. Infact we could run right around the house and bark at anyone who walked by which we did frequently.

Well finally the last highlight of our holiday was the fact that it was my birthday last Thursday. I turned 7. We didn't have a pawty but I did get a special present. Since I'm not really into toys D & B thought I would like a nice pillow. It has a dog on it and it's tail also acts as a handle so I can carry it around with me wherever I go.

Beechworth is an old gold mining town in Victoria. There are many old buildings to explore. We thought you'd like to see some sights around the town.

There used to be a railway that went through Beechworth but it was too expensive to run as it is very hilly area and surrounded by granite hills so they diverted the track to bypass the town. The rail line is now converted to a cycle track which runs for many kilometres.
