Two days away without the dales

Well they did it. They actually put us in a kennel for 2 whole days while they choofed off and had fun exploring new places without us.........sigh. Our accommodation at this new kennel was very nice. We had our own private suites complete with heated beds and a trampoline bed as well. They gave us lots of cuddles and playtime and there were lots of other dogs there too. The pinkies seemed very happy with the place and it was only 15 mins away from where they were staying.

This post is actually all about their 2 days away at a town called Orange. It's about 2.5 hours west of the Blue Mountains where we live. They went with a friend of theirs and stayed at a nice B&B which was even older than ours. You'll never guess what they found there........a pug cross named Rastus.

They said Rastus was very friendly and made all the B&B guests very welcome. Then the next morning at breakfast they had another surprise. This little fellow arrived..

Isn't he the smallest pup you've ever seen. He was tiny and only 6 weeks old. He is a pug cross. They gave it lots of cuddles. D was ever so glad it didn't piddle on her lol.

While they were out at Orange they explored the town. They checked out the Botanical Gardens and they drove to the top of Mt Canobolas (1395 metres or 4576 ft) which is the highest point between the Blue Mountains and the Indian Ocean all the way over in Western Australia. Mind you here in Oz it doesn't have to be very high to be the highest point lol. We are a flat country.

Here are some pics of B & D standing on Mt Canobolas. They said it was freezing up there and really windy. It was only 4 degrees celsius (39 F). Ok we know some of you are going to say that's not that bad but they thought it was freezing cold lol.

There was a bit of fog rolling about but they could still see some of the surrounding countryside. This area is well known for its wines. Naturally they brought some back with them. They also had some great food out there and you'll never guess what.......they totally forgot to bring us any.....how rude is that!!!!
The next few photos were taken at the Botanical Gardens:

Bryan & Melinda:
Being winter the gardens were fairly stark but they said it was still nice to walk around. They met a few dogs there too as dogs are allowed if they are on lead.
Hopefully next time they go out there they'll take us with them.

A trip to the vet

The pinkies said we'd just make a quick stop at the vet to pick up some herbal medication for me. They didn't mention anything about having a check up and a shot.......sigh.

Stephen the vet took my temperature which was rather unpleasant let me tell you!! Then he checked out my joint rotation. Sometimes I get sore in my back hips so Stephen suggested I have a 4 week trial of Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium (PPS) and combined this with my glucosomine. D is always watching me to see if I'm sore or stiff.....Hope this helps, I get kinda sick and tired of being watched all the time.

Some of our friends have been asking about Lucy's leg. Well we thought it was better but she's gone lame on us again. So she has to continue to have lots of rest. It aint easy keeping her still....
Tomorrow the pinkies are going away just for one night. We're going to be checking out a new kennel not far from where they are staying. They're going to be eating at some nice restaurants and I've put in my order. I hope they remember to bring something back for us.

We'll be back on Thursday night. In the meantime you can watch these videos of Willow & Tess. Tess can be a big bully sometimes. She's decided to pick on poor little Willow but Willow just wants to play.
