Gifts & awards

G'day maties,
Well we've been back home for a week now and it's been really busy. Pinkies are back at waking up at 3.45am and taking us to the station to see D off. They look shocking when they wake up at that Godforsaken hour.

Lots has happened this week. First of all we had some lovely guests staying at our B&B from Brazil. They even looked at Thor's Blog and translated some stuff for us....how cool is that!!! They were really lovely people and they told us lots about Brazil.

We were also given 2 awards by our friends Agatha & Archie, Gus & Louie, Hammer, Ludo, Bogart, Penny & Poppy and my girl Ellie. Thanks so much guys, it's such an honour to receive these awards.

Our Award from Gus & Louie, Hammer, Ludo , Bogart, Penny & Poppy and Ellie:

This award is presented to bloggers whose blog brings you happiness and inspiration and makes you feel happy about Blogland. The rules are to pass the award along to up to 10 people (we'd actually like to pass it to all our maties).
This is such a great award to receive. We're going to pass this award onto Butchy & Snickers, Alf & Mindy, Scruffy, Lacie & Babystan, Pacco, Jackson and Faya.

Our Award from Agatha & Archie: This is another super award which we'd like to pass onto Simba who is a little sweetheart.

We also received a surprise package during the week from Miss Sunshade and Jaffa. We didn't expect this at all and we just love it. Thanks Sunshade and Jaffa!!!!!

These strips go on our leads and they glow in the dark so when we walk to the station early in the morning we can be seen.

We feel like we've slipped behind in visiting all your blogs lately but we're going to make a real effort this weekend to catch up. It would be so much better if the pinkies didn't have to work.

This weekend there is a big dinner pawty happening at our place cause it's Pinkie B's birthday. He is so old we wonder how he can walk the four of us on his own.

Here is a piccie of B and I having a moment together:
Lastly and this is very serious, I Noah am going to be spending the day at the vet on Monday to have a little lump removed from my belly. I'm a bit nervous about it but the pinkies told me not to worry. It's possible that it's an apocirne sweat gland cyst or a fillicular cyst but whatever it is it's yuckie and has to go. So maties, keep your paws crossed that all goes well.

Hugs and tail wags,
Noah

Dinner time

G'day maties,

For Christmas D & B received a tagine and they promised to do a Moroccan dinner for some of their friends next Saturday night soooooooo D never having used a tagine before did a trial run for dinner tonight.

Of course they needed some help to finish it off so we all got to try some and the girls cleaned the plates afterwards as well.
Even though this recipe was ok, the pinkies have decided to peruse the internet and go for something a bit more exciting.

Asta up over tagged us to say why our pinkies chose us as their pets.
This is our story of how we came to live with D & B here in Leura.

Our story goes back to the year 2000. It was a night in February and the pinkies were asleep upstairs. At about 3am D heard a noise and when she opened her eyes she noticed a flash light beaming around the kitchen. She pounced out of bed to see who had broken into their home. B takes a little longer to wake up so by the time both of them had come downstairs the culprit had fled. D didn't cope very well with the breakin and B suggested that having a dog might be a good idea. They had never had a dog as a couple before because their last house didn't really suit pets.

After some thought D suggested an Airedale Terrier, mostly because she thought they were very cute but also because airedales are supposed to be good guard dogs. They approached a breeder in Sydney who waited till the 11th hour before telling them she had a dog for sale. She told them he was supposed to be a show dog but as it turned out he wasn't up to show standard. That's when they came to visit me. I was 4 months old when they picked me up and brought me home. They called me Noah and lavished me in affection. For the first two years they didn't hear boo from me....barely a bark. Then as a three year old I became the best barker and guard dog ever. The pinkies thought I neeeded a little sister so in 2004 they went back to the breeder and came home with little Willow. She is a sweatheart. Doesn't she look cute in this picture.

About 18 months past by when the pinkies heard of a female dale that needed to be rescued. A friend of theirs from Airedale Rescue in Sydney said she was staying with her and needed to go to a new home. She had been taken to the dog pound by her previous owners because she jumped and was boisterous with their children...... We all went down to meet Suzie and made the decision that she could come home with us. We changed her name to Lucy and that's how Lucy came to live with us. Lucy was high maintenance from day one. See here in the picture below, she jumped straight into the drivers seat lol, the fact that Bryan was trying to drive didn't seem to bother her at all.

We thought that would be it for airedales for us. Then last year we read an email about a female dale that needed to go to a new home. She was an escape artist and was forever escaping from her previous owners yard. They were at their wits end and tried many different ways to keep her in. They were actually thinking of having her put to sleep.......we just couldn't believe what we were hearing so D asked B if she thought he could cope walking 4 dales. He said he'd give it a go just to see this poor girl go to a good home.

Tess came to live with us last August and let me tell you, the first 3 weeks were a nightmare. Tess and Lucy didn't get on as they both wanted to be top dog. The fights that took place were horrible and the pinkies still have scars from their fights. After those horrid 3 weeks things all of a sudden changed for the better and Tess & Lucy are now best buddies. They still have growly sessions but you can tell they're playing. They both have a similar personality.
So that is how our pinkies B & D have come to be the happy owners of 4 airedales. Of course I'm the smartest and the most handsome of all.
Now we are going to tag Molly & Gertrude's mum Kate to tell us about their story.

Hugs and tail wags
