We farewell our friend Colin Harries

Yesterday the 3rd March our best friend Colin Harries crossed the rainbow bridge.
Lymphoma was diagnosed in late January and after unsuccessful chemotherapy he passed away at home in the arms of his pinkies. He was only 7 years old.
Colin will be sorely missed. He got along so well with the Leuradales. A true friend to them.
We took this video some time ago when the Harries' came to visit.

Our hearts go out to Marilyn & John Harries who are such wonderful friends.

You are in our hearts and thoughts.

TESS..........Errrr Tessy, what happened to you??
Tess: Well D gave me a trim that's what happened......sigh :(

There has been some really horrid weather here in Oz
but here in the Blue Mts all is fine.
We weren't affected by any flooding (even though it's done nothing but rain)
and we live very far away from that cyclone that hit Nth Queensland.
We can't promise D is going to help us blog as often as we used to but
we will try

Climbing climbing climbing

Hi hi everyone, it's me Tess....kiss kiss happy new year xxxxx
I'm reporting to you today from the miserable Blue Mountains where the drizzle and mist has set in ....it's supposed to be summer !!!!!! I decided I should do this post because I'm well known for my climbing ability with frequent trips to the neighbours yard via the back fence hehehe. This is the Hartley Valley in the Blue Mountains. It's also the area where B & D had their first outdoor rock climbing adventure. D has been going to the indoor rockclimbing gym 3 times a week since last May but on this day they had the opportunity to climb outdoors and B went along too. They have a good friend who is a climbing instructor so with his help they did 3 outdoor climbs.
Here they are waiting for their matie Carl to set up the ropes. Then they all walked down to the foot of the cliffs.

Here is D on one of the climbs. She did better than she thought she would.

This was the last climb of the afternoon. B did really really well considering he has never climbed before. This climb was graded a little harder than the first 2 and its a slab rock with smaller holds. With climbing shoes you can really stick to the wall.

D liked this climb the best because it was the most challanging yet she could still do it hehe.

That's it B, big stretch, come on you can do it.

D & B had a great afternoon climbing. They cant wait to go again. I can go climbing over my back fence whenever I like hehehe.
We hope everyone is enjoying the first few days of 2011.
Love Tess xx
